Travis
continues to be a very content baby. Babies from the NICU aren't used to being
handled a lot, and because of that he will lie awake for hours in his playpen
just looking around. He loves to smile at us and beginning to coo along with it.
Natalie loves the little guy and has been very good around
him.
Travis
was diagnosed with acid reflux two weeks ago. He started refusing to drink that
weekend and was throwing up full feeds up to 5 times a day. I called up the
paediatrician and was able to get in later that afternoon. Since then he has
been taking medication for it which has helped, but hasn't completely stopped
the throwing up which still occurs once or twice a day.
We have gone now
to demand feeds and at night, and Travis will sleep for up to 7 hours which has
been an awesome change! The last time we had him weighed he was 12 pounds and 7
ounces, so he currently should be around 13 pounds. Overall he isn't drinking a
large amount of milk at a time, but we fortify my milk by adding formula to
increase his calorie intake. This has really helped his weight gain.
We
are looking forward to his baptism this Sunday; following the service we will be
having a luncheon with our family. Should be a great day to praise God for the
miracle he brought into our lives!!
